The music was especially composed by Alex Roberts to utilise rhythms that allow the conscious mind to drift to altered states of awareness. The CDs work at conscious and unconscious levels to promote positive change.

The CDs complement each other in their focus on the development of breathing and meditation, awareness and mindfulness, conscious and unconscious learning, mental and physical calming and relaxation, and the management of stress, anxiety, anger, hypertension, high blood pressure, strong feelings and emotions. The titles include Breathing to Relax, Deep Progressive Muscle Relaxation, The Seasons:Relax with Guided Imagery, Good Night & Sweet Dreams, & Performance & Sports Success. The CDs utilize techniques from hypnosis and NLP, including direct and indirect suggestion, visualization, guided imagery, and therapeutic metaphors.

The CD Notes also provide further information for each subject: e.g. on stress and relaxation; breathing exercises for meditation and for managing strong feelings and emotions; active and passive techniques for muscular relaxation, anxiety and stress management; relaxation training, guided imagery and visualization to promote positive personal change; insomnia, the sleep-dream cycle and cognitive behavioural strategies to improve sleep and resolve sleep problems or difficulties; exercise, life-style, control of breathing and muscular relaxation, practice, self-assessment and belief, and the role of positive imagery techniques in performance and sports success. The Seasons: Relax with Guided Imagery

(playing time 45.18)

A relaxation exercise using guided imagery, visualization, therapeutic metaphors & hypnosis techniques that invites the listener to relax, unwind and explore a metaphorical journey through the four seasons. The CD includes suggestions and therapeutic metaphors for relaxation, positive change, personal growth and development.

Relaxation training, guided imagery, visualization and therapeutic metaphors can be utilized in many different ways to enhance learning, performance and personal development. When we are in a relaxed state it is much easier to let ideas, images and associations drift in and out of our conscious awareness. No wonder that relaxation training and guided imagery techniques are used extensively in so many different areas: e.g.in accelerated learning programmes for adults and children; and in programmes for developing and enhancing performance in sport, entertainment, advertising and commerce.

We all experience the world through our senses and our minds create representations from all our senses. How we experience things depends on our awareness and the attention we give to that experience. Our past experiences and how we interpret them and feel about them are based on this sensory information and our memory, and how they interact, as demonstrated by our thoughts, feelings and actions. So we can change the way we experience events dramatically by making subtle changes in ways that we think, feel and act.

"Remember A B C stands for Ability, Belief and Confidence. Nothing builds confidence better than success .... for confidence to grow it has to have a solid foundation and a clear direction .So take these six steps:
1) Assess your own abilities realistically - review your experiences, the successes and the failures, and your areas of strength and weakness - because a shaky self-appraisal is under-mining; 2) Set goals that are attainable and a challenge, neither too easy nor too difficult, because achievement will boost confidence; 3) Use positive imagery to rehearse confident performance on the task; 4) Use positive self-talk and internal dialogue, and banish negative thoughts or gremlins; 5) Practise the task confidently and review the performance; and 6) Repeat and / or revise the program." (CD notes pages 4-5)

This CD takes you through the next 10 steps towards performance and sports success using positive imagery.
